Double Lia and Trandell win at 2024 USIC

The 44th edition of the US Indoor Champs just wrapped up coinciding with Thanksgiving in Cleveland, Ohio.  Team Awesomatix took the TQ in every foam tire 1/12 classes and USVTA!!  We finished the event with wins in the 3 fastest foam tire 1/12th classes - all with our new #awesomatix A12X!

  • 1/12th Modified - Win - Donny Lia
  • 1/12th Modified - TQ - Sam Isaacs
  • 1/12th Super Stock - TQ + Win - Donny Lia
  • 1/12th Stock - TQ + Win - Joe Trandell
  • 1/12th Masters 50+ - TQ - Wayne Gerber
  • USVTA - TQ - Dante Woodard

The Awesomatix A12 platform has now won USIC 10 times since 2021!!

1/12th Modified



Sunday's mains were very exciting, but no more exciting was the 4-way battle for the win in 1/12th Modified between our 4 Team Drivers who qualified 1st to 4th - Sam Isaacs, Kemp Anderson, Donny Lia and Stuart Mason.  Sam won A1.  Stuart won A2.  It was all up for grabs in A3 where Donny put a last corner pass on Kemp to win A3 and the overall!

Awesomatix would field the most cars in the Modified TC A-main by qualifying positions 2-5 and 7th.  Sam and Kemp would hold position in 2nd and 3rd with Craig driving up from 5th to finish 4th!

1/12th Super Stock


In qualifying Donny Lia showed his dominance of this class by being a lap up on the field.  For nearly the first 4 minutes of the A-main Donny made it look like everyone had a chance.  Donny then tapped out onto the straightaway, and after that moment he stopped playing around.  Driving back from 4th Donny would pass John Dickson for 1st w/ 1 minute left on the clock to win with his A12X.  Awesomatix also had the most cars w/in this A-main!!

    Qualifying for Stock 12th was a battle between Awesomatix's Joe Trandell and CRC's Andrew Knapp.  Joe would take the TQ and use that starting spot to walk away from the battling pack.  Awesomatix's Zach Schuttenberg would drive through the smoke to initially be in 2nd until some board meetings had him end up 4th.

        Team Awesomatix would qualify strong with considering the low grip & greasy conditions.  A unfortunately uncounted last lap for John Dickson in Q4 would make him have a bigger battle to help move up the grid.

        Awesomatix's Wayne Gerber would TQ the Masters 50+ class.  In the single A-main Wayne would tap a dot and get shuffled back from the lead, he battled back to 2nd.

              Cleveland local Dante Woodard would TQ the event with his Awesomatix TC.  Dante would lead the A-main for nearly the first lap before tapping out onto the straight.  Dante would come back to finish 2nd joining Charles Edwards with his Awesomatix in 3rd.
